À Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, le 20 décembre 2017, à l’âge de 87 ans, est décédé M. Kenneth Douglas Sykes, époux de feu Mme Marie Noella Pilon, fils de feu M. William Sykes et de feu Mme Paulina Irene East, résidant à Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. Il laisse dans le deuil ses neveux et nièces Emily Oldenburg de Leamington, ON, Patty Paraschak de LaSalle, ON, Laura Sykes de Waterloo, ON, François Kenneth Leduc de Valleyfield, ses petits-neveux et petites-nièces Stephanie et David Paraschak, Annika Halveron, Charles Anthony Leduc ainsi que parents et amis. Il rejoint son amie Dorthy »Dolly » Wind et son jeune frère Donald William Sykes. Kenneth a joint le RCAF en septembre 1951 et a prit sa retraite en mars 1980. Il a fait 29 ans de service incluant des tranferts dans des pays étrangers comme la France et l’Allemagne. Ken a aussi été un membre très actif de la Légion Canadienne locale pour laquelle il a servi sur le comité administratif pendant plusieurs années. Après sa retraite, il est devenu un commissionnaire au camp d’entraînement des douanes Canadiennes. Les funérailles auront lieu le samedi 28 avril à 13h30 à la chapelle du complexe funéraire. Il sera ensuite inhumé au cimetière de Valleyfield dans la section pour Vétérans. Un remerciement spécial à Francine Corbeil pour son aide envers Ken et sa famille. Sous la direction funéraire de J. In Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, on December 20th, 2017, at the age of 87, passed away Mr. Kenneth Douglas Sykes, husband of the late Mrs. Marie Noella Pilon, son of the late Mr. William Sykes and the late Mrs. Paulina Irene East. He was a resident of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. Good friend for many years to Dorothy « Dolly » Wind who pre-deceased him on February 18th, 2014. Younger brother to Donald William Sykes who pre-deceased him February 12th, 2004. Uncle to Emily Oldenburg of Leamington, ON, Patty Paraschak of LaSalle, ON, Laura Sykes of Waterloo, ON and Francois Kenneth Leduc of Valleyfield, Qc. Great Uncle to Stephanie and David Paraschak, Annika Halverson and Charles Anthony Leduc. Ken joind the RCAF in September 1951 and retired in March of 1980 after 29 years of service which included postings to France and Germany. Kenneth was an active member of the local Royal Canadian Legion where he served on the Board of Directors for many years. After his retirement, he was a Commissioner at the Canadian customs training facility. A memorial service will be held on saturday April 28th at 1:30 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. He will be buried in the Field of Honour of the Valleyfield cemetery. The family would like to thank Francine Corbeil for all her assistance to Ken and his family. Under the care of J. A.
